Abstract:
The invention provides a device for coupling a cash drawer and a point of sale (POS) system, the device comprising a series of interfaces for coupling said cash drawer, said POS system and for coupling said device to an external network and a remote server, for registering a transaction, the device further comprises an internal network in said device, and a data storage medium coupled to said internal network, said device further comprising at least one data processor and software which identifies an external network coupled to one of said interfaces, sets said interface as a first interface for coupling said device to said external network, a cash drawer coupled to a further one of said interfaces, and sets said interface as a second interface for coupling said cash drawer via said device to said internal network, and a POS system coupled to yet a further one of said interfaces, and sets said interfaces as a third interface for coupling said POS system via said device to said internal network.
