Abstract:

A recording/reproducing device (100) is provided with a first substrate (41) whereupon a recording medium (43) is placed, and a second substrate (21) whereupon a recording/reproducing head (23) for recording and reproducing information on and from the recording medium. The second substrate shifts relatively to the first substrate, along a prescribed direction substantially parallel to the first substrate. A granular material (30) is arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate. The granular material is permitted to (i) shift in accordance with shift of the second substrate, and (ii) have a cross-section which becomes substantially circular in a direction wherein the second substrate shifts, at a time when the second substrate shifts.
