Abstract:
A dialkyl ether represented by general formula (1); and a base oil for lubricant oils and a lubricant oil composition, each of which contains the dialkyl ether. Thus, provided are a base oil for lubricant oils and a lubricant oil composition, each of which has a low viscosity and also has excellent viscosity-temperature properties and excellent low-temperature fluidability.
(In the formula, R1 and R2 independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; and n represents an integer of 1 to 20.)
