Abstract:
Diaminobenzene derivatives of the general formula [1]; polyimide precursors and polyimides prepared by using the derivatives as part of the raw materials; and liquid crystal aligning agents containing the polyimide precursors and/or the polyimides: [1] wherein X?1¿ is a divalent organic group selected from among -OCH¿2?-, -CH¿2?O-, -COOCH¿2?- and -CH¿2?OOC-; X?2¿ is -O-; and X?3¿ is an alkyl or fluoroalkyl group having 1 to 22 carbon atoms or a cyclic group derived from a ring selected from among aromatic rings, aliphatic rings, heterocycles, and rings derived therefrom by substitution.
