Abstract:
Provided is a diamond coated cemented carbide cutting tool, wherein (1) the average particle diameter of WC particles is 0.5 to 0.9 μm, (2) the maximum height difference (Rz) of the peaks and valleys of the boundary face of a substrate is 0.5 to 1.0 μm, the maximum distance (Δ) between peaks and valleys is 0.5 to 1.5 μm, and the length (Ye) of the diamond coating in a region in which the binder phase is removed is 0.5 to 2.0 μm, (3) WC particles for which L1 is 0.4 to 0.8 μm, L2 is 0.2 to 0.4 μm, and (L1)/(L2) is 1.5 to 2.5, are 70% or more of the area in the substrate boundary face, (4) the average particle diameter of diamond crystals in a region 0.5 to 1.5 μm from the substrate boundary face is 0.1 to 0.3 μm, and (5) there are columnar crystals for which the ratio of the angular deviation in the growth direction to the thickness direction within 10 degrees is 90% or more and/or the <110> orientation ratio is from 30 to 70%.
