Abstract:
Provided are a diaphragm which has a decreased chance of being damage, filter plates which are easily processed, and a filter press dehydrator upon which a filter chamber is formed by the diaphragm and the filter plates. The filter chamber (8) is formed by: the diaphragm (20) in which a thick section (21) that functions as a filter frame is integrally formed at the periphery of a thin section (22) that compresses an undiluted solution; and the filter plates, on side of which a compression section (31) that compresses the diaphragm (20) between adjacent filter plates is formed, and on the other side of which a rising section (37), into which the diaphragm (20) can be inserted, and the thickness of which is smaller than that of the thick section (21), is formed. By supplying the undiluted solution to the filter chamber (8) and inflating the diaphragm (20), the undiluted solution is compressed and dehydrated, producing a cake. In this case, the thick section (21) of the diaphragm (20) functions as a seal surface.
