Abstract:
To manufacture a diaphragm pump with higher reliability by simplifying a mechanism of a main valve without providing a pilot chamber in the diaphragm pump.
A diaphragm pump (10) is provided with: a pair of diaphragms (34, 44) for defining pump chambers (36, 46) and air chambers (32, 42); a main body unit (20) for supporting a center rod (120) on a center portion of each of the diaphragms (34, 44) in a reciprocable manner slidably; and a valve body (80) in which a spool (100) for switching supply of a fluid to both the air chambers (32, 42) for causing the center rod (120) to reciprocate is built, the valve body (80) being provided with a sleeve (84) and the spool (100) which is provided inside the sleeve (84) and caused to reciprocate in an axial direction. The spool (100) is constituted of a disc shaped portion S3, a disc shaped portion S2, and a disc shaped portion S1, and surface areas of the disc shaped portions where compression air is received is configured to satisfy a relationship of (an upper end side of the disc shaped portion S3) > (a lower end side of the disc shaped portion S2) > (an upper end side of the disc shaped portion S1).
