Abstract:
A diaphragm valve is disclosed which is suitable for use in swimming pool cleaners to intermittently interrupt flow in a tube (3) connected to a suction pump. The valve includes a tubular member (2), an integrated flow guidance system (1 ) to induce a specific shape of said tubular member (2) when in closed position as well as an adjustable means (12, 13, 14) to increase or decrease the pulsating frequency of said tubular member (2). The flow guiding member (1 ) comprises along its circumference at least three essentially flat guiding surfaces (7) tapered towards the center line of the tubular member (2), separated from each other by at least three rounded portions (9).
