Abstract:
Provided are a die for hot forging which has high high-temperature compression strength and can have a prolonged die life and a method for producing the die for hot forging. The die for hot forging is made of a casting alloy having a composition comprising, in terms of mass%, 7.5-20.0% W, 0-5.0% Mo, 5.0-7.5% Al, 0.5-5.0% Cr, 1.0-12.0% Ta, 0.01-0.15% C, up to 0.03% B, up to 0.015% S, 0-0.020% one or more elements, in total, selected from among rare earth elements, Y, Ca, and Mg, up to 0.5% one or the two elements, in total, selected from between Zr and Hf, up to 5.0% Ti, up to 5.0% Nb, and up to 25.0% Co, with the remainder comprising Ni and unavoidable impurities. In the die for hot forging, the dendrite core contains a gamma prime phase having an equivalent circular diameter of 2.20 μm or smaller. The production method is suitable for producing the die for hot forging.
