Abstract:
A dielectric barrier discharge lamp (101) is provided with an elongate discharge tube (3) in which a discharge gas is sealed, and a pair of electrodes (5, 5). A portion of the outer circumferential surface along the length direction of the discharge tube (3) is designated as a light extraction region (3A) for extracting light generated inside the discharge tube (3) to the outside. The electrodes of the electrode pair (5, 5) are arranged in the circumferential direction on the outer circumferential surface of the discharge tube (3) such that the light extraction region (3A) is positioned between the electrodes of said electrode pair (5, 5).
