Abstract:
A high efficiency dielectric barrier discharge lamp having high uniformity of
brightness. The distance (d) between the outer electrode (14) and the airtight container
(10) of the dielectric barrier discharge lamp (100) becomes shorter in the longitudinal
direction of the airtight container from the inner electrode (13). The area
(S) of the outer electrode (14) per unit length becomes narrower in the longitudinal
direction of the airtight container (10) from the inner electrode (13). The
capacitance (C) formed between the airtight container (10) and the outer electrode
(14) is substantially constant in the longitudinal direction of the airtight
container (10) or becomes smaller in the longitudinal direction.
