Abstract:
This diesel engine piston comprises a floor part that has the deepest combustion chamber floor within a combustion chamber, a circumferential protrusion that is provided around the entire circumference of a circumferential wall between the floor part and a top surface of the piston and, as seen in a cross-section that includes the center line of the piston, protrudes toward the intersection (P0) of the top surface and the center line, a slanted part that slants toward the top surface from the circumferential protrusion toward the outside in the radial direction, and an upright part that rises from the slanted part toward the top surface. As seen in cross-section, when (L0) is the shortest distance between the center line and the upright part, (H1) is the distance between the top surface and the intersection of the extension line of the slanted part and the extension line of the upright part, (L1) is the shortest distance between intersection (P0) and the circumferential protrusion, and (A1) is the angle formed between the extension line of the slanted part and a straight line that is orthogonal to the center line, the piston satisfies conditions (1) and (2). (1) When L0 is 100, L0:H1:L1=100:9±5:83±5. (2) 20 degrees≤A1≤40 degrees.
