Abstract:
Ammonia burn rate is increased to reduce unburned ammonia, and CO2 is reduced. This diesel engine has a combustion chamber and a fuel supply means that supplies gas-form ammonia and fuel oil serving as an ignition source into the combustion chamber, and a premixed ammonia gas is formed and co-fired in the combustion chamber by the fuel supply means. The combustion chamber interior has a control means that performs control so as to form a premixed ammonia gas such that the ammonia concentration at the inner side wall surface of the combustion chamber is higher than in the center of the combustion chamber, and the control means makes adjustments so that the excess air ratio is lower than the excess air ratio during operation performed using only fuel oil.
