Abstract:
In a differential device in which a differential case includes a pair of case half bodies: the pair of case half bodies (C1, C2) include, in one and another of mutual mating surfaces (f1, f2) of the case half bodies, an annular recessed portion (31) and an annular projecting portion (32) which mate concentrically; a distal end surface of the annular projecting portion and an inner bottom surface of the annular recessed portion oppose one another with a clearance therebetween in an axial direction, and an oil groove (34) which opens in a differential case inner surface (Ci) in a position separated from a pinion shaft (21) in the axial direction is formed by the mutually opposing surfaces; a shaft hole (40) into which the pinion shaft is inserted is formed between the mating surfaces; and a clearance space (41) of which an end portion on a radially inner side communicates with the oil groove, and an end portion on a radially outer side communicates with the outside of the differential case (C) is interposed between the shaft hole and the pinion shaft. In this way, lubricating oil inside the differential case can be discharged smoothly to the outside of the case using a simple oil channel construction employing the mutual mating surfaces of both case half bodies, even without specially providing a window hole in the differential case.
