Abstract:
The present invention provides a diffuser system for moisture content removal in glove manufacturing process. The system includes a former configured to be dipped and dried for glove manufacturing, a plurality of diffusers configured to remove moisture content from the dipped former or glove, and a plurality of air discharge points configured for transferring controlled air through the plurality of diffusers on the dipped former or glove, wherein the plurality of diffusers is positioned according to regions of the dipped former or glove.

Claims

1 . A diffuser system (100) for moisture content removal in glove manufacturing process, the system comprising:

a former (1 10) configured to be dipped and dried for glove manufacturing; a plurality of diffusers (120) configured to remove moisture content from the dipped former or glove,

and

a plurality of air discharge points configured for transferring controlled air through the plurality of diffusers (120) on the former (1 10) or glove,

wherein the plurality of diffusers (120) is positioned according to regions of the former (1 10) or glove.

2. The system of claim 1 wherein the dipped former or glove is dipped in coagulants, latex, washing solution or liquid, rinsing liquid or solution, chlorination / polymer coating or other solutions or pre-leaching/post-leaching solution.

The system of claim 2 wherein cross section of plurality of diffusers 120 is rectangular (122, 126), cylindrical (124), rectangular, square or of any geometric shape with varying dimension wherein the plurality of diffusers is structured with different air velocity profile as per the air velocity required to be projected on parts of the dipped former or glove.

4. The system of claim 3 wherein the plurality of diffusers (120) includes a plurality of cylindrical diffuser (124) configured to dry region between fingers of the dipped former or glove; and

a plurality of rectangular diffuser (122, 126) configured to remove moisture content from fingers, palms and cuffs of the dipped former or glove.

The system of claim 4 further comprising a ducting (210) configured to accommodate multiple sets (120a, 120b, 120c, 120d) of the plurality of diffusers (120) on a top surface (220) of the ducting (210) wherein each of the multiple sets of the plurality of diffusers dry the dipped former or glove.

6. The system of claim 5 wherein the multiple sets (120a, 120b, 120c, 120d) of the plurality of diffusers (120) are integrated to the ducting (210) or in standalone arrangements.

7. The system of claim 2 wherein the diffuser system (100) includes a jet impingement mechanism where the hot air is focused directly through the plurality of diffusers (120) onto the former (1 10) or glove at varying velocities to remove moisture content from the dipped former or glove.

8. The system of claim 5 wherein concentration of air onto the plurality of former (1 10) or glove enhances heat transfer to the formers or gloves as they move.

9. The system of claim 8 wherein concentration of air provides faster moisture content removal with a lower oven setting temperature in order to reduce gas consumption.

10. The system of claim 4 wherein the cylindrical diffuser (124) has the smaller surface area providing controlled air with a higher velocity thereby being suitable to dry region in between fingers that always having drying difficulty.

1 1 . The system of claim 4 wherein the rectangular diffuser (122, 126) has a larger surface area providing controlled air with a medium velocity thereby being suitable to dry at fingers, palm and cuff areas that are easier to dry.

12. The system as claimed in claim 4 wherein the cylindrical diffuser (124) is positioned, higher than or, at same height as the rectangular diffuser (122, 126)

13. The system of claim 4 wherein the air discharge points is nearer to the former (1 10) but there is an allocation of 50mm to 250mm space in between each set of plurality of diffusers (120) to cater for former (1 10) drop.

14. The system of claim 1 , wherein a gap between the plurality of air discharge points is in a range of 5 mm to 160 mm.

Diffuser system for moisture content removal in glove manufacturing process FIELD OF INVENTION

[001] The present invention relates to glove manufacturing. More particularly, the invention relates to a diffuser system for moisture content removal in glove manufacturing process.

BACKGROUND

[002] Gloves are extremely useful for hand protection and accomplishing multiple activities and procedures. Gloves can be made from many materials including natural rubber latex, neoprene, nitrile, cloth, and leather. Gloves can protect a person's hands from contamination particularly in case of medical procedures and surgeries to protect from harmful fluid contact.

[003] The material used for manufacturing the gloves, the dimension of the gloves and the moisture content removal from formers and glove etc. are of prime importance. The former is placed above hot air oven during the moisture content removal process. However, each part of the former or glove like fingers, cuff, thumb or the area between fingers require precise and efficient moisture content removal for glove manufacturing. [004] In view of the above, it is a continuous need to have efficient moisture content removal system for glove manufacturing that can overcome the problems associated with the prior arts. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[005] The present invention provides a diffuser system for moisture content removal in glove manufacturing process. The system includes a former configured to be dipped and dried for glove manufacturing, a plurality of diffusers configured to remove moisture content from the dipped former or glove, and a plurality of air discharge points configured for transferring controlled air through the plurality of diffusers on the dipped former or glove, wherein the plurality of diffusers is positioned according to regions of the dipped former or glove. [006] In a related embodiment, the former is first dipped in a coagulant and dried by the plurality of diffusers before the former is dipped in natural rubber or nitrile latex for glove manufacturing.

[007] In another embodiment, the dipped former or glove may also refer to a former dipped in a washing solution or liquid (usually before coagulant dipping), rinsing liquid or solution, chlorination / polymer coating or other solutions. In yet another embodiment, the dipped former or glove may also refer to the former as dipped in pre-leaching/post-leaching process.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS [008] Reference will be made to embodiments of the invention, examples of which may be illustrated in the accompanying figures. These figures are intended to be illustrative, not limiting. Although the invention is generally described in the context of these embodiments, it shall be understood that it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention to these embodiments.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS [0014] Various embodiments of the present invention provide a diffuser system for moisture content removal in glove manufacturing process.

[0015] Reference in the specification to "one embodiment" or to "an embodiment" means that a particular feature, structure, or characteristic described in connection with the embodiments is included in at least one embodiment of the invention. The appearances of the phrase "in one embodiment" in various places in the specification are not necessarily all referring to the same embodiment. 16] Referring to Fig. 1 , a diffuser system 100 is provided in accordance with an embodiment of the invention. The system 100 includes a former 1 10 configured to be dipped and dried for glove manufacturing, a plurality of diffusers 120 configured to remove moisture content from the dipped former or glove 1 10, and a plurality of air discharge points configured for transferring controlled air through the plurality of diffusers 120 on the dipped former or glove 1 10, wherein the plurality of diffusers 120 is positioned according to various regions of the dipped former or glove 1 10 such as fingers, palm and cuff.

[0017] In an embodiment, the former (1 10) is first dipped in a coagulant and dried by the plurality of diffusers 120 before the former 1 10 is dipped in glove materials like natural rubber or nitrile latex for manufacturing gloves. For the convenience of the present disclosure, a dipped former or glove is either a former dipped in or coated with coagulant or a former dipped in or coated with natural rubber or nitrile latex. Alternatively, the former dipped in coagulant may be referred to as coagulant dipped former and the former dipped in natural rubber or nitrile latex may be referred to as latex dipped former. In another embodiment, the dipped former or glove may also refer to a former or glove dipped in a washing solution or liquid (usually before coagulant dipping), rinsing liquid or solution, chlorination / polymer coating or other solutions. In yet another embodiment, the dipped former or glove may also refer to the former as dipped in pre-leaching/post-leaching process. [0018] In an exemplary embodiment as shown in Fig. 1 a and 1 b, the cross section of plurality of diffusers 120 is rectangular (122, 126), cylindrical 124, square or of any geometric shape with varying dimension. The plurality of diffusers 120 is structured as per the air velocity required to be projected on parts of the former 1 10 or glove. The dimensions shown in Fig. 1 a and 1 b are part of one exemplary embodiment of the invention and they have been provided for better understanding of the structure. However, it will be understood by one skilled in the art that these dimensions can vary without departing from the scope of the invention.

[0019] In a related embodiment, the plurality of discharge points (122a, 124a, 126a) are the opening of the plurality of diffusers 120. [0020] In an embodiment, the plurality of diffusers (120) includes a plurality of cylindrical diffuser (124) configured to dry region between fingers of the dipped former or glove, and a plurality of rectangular diffuser (122, 126) configured to dry fingers (122) or palms and cuffs (126) of the dipped former or glove.

[0021 ] In a related embodiment, the plurality of rectangular diffuser (122, 126) are of various dimensions configured to perform the desired function.

[0022] In an embodiment as shown in Fig 2 and Fig. 2a, the diffuser system (200, 200a) of the present invention includes a ducting 210 configured to accommodate multiple sets (120a, 120b, 120c, 120d) of the plurality of diffusers 120 on a top surface 220 of the ducting (210, 210a).

[0023] In one embodiment, the diffuser system 200a provides a plurality of former 1 10 (1 10a, 1 10b, 1 10c, 1 10d) or glove.

[0032] In an embodiment, the air discharge points are nearer to the former 1 10 or glove but there is an allocation of preferably 50 mm to 250 mm space in between each set of plurality of diffusers 120 to cater for former 1 10 drop.

[0033] In an exemplary embodiment of the invention, the plurality of diffusers 120 has different diffusers for different parts or section of the dipped former or glove like finger, region between fingers, thumb, palm and cuff.

[0034] In an exemplary embodiment, air velocity at cylindrical diffuser (124) is higher than the velocity at rectangular diffuser (122, 126). [0035] In a related aspect, each of the plurality of diffusers have different velocities profile to achieve uniform drying as shown in Fig. 1 a where velocity in section 2 (area/region between finger and thumb) is greater than velocity in section 3 (area/region between fingers and four finger) which is greater than velocity in section 4 (fingers), where the velocity in section 4 (fingers) is greater than velocity in section 1 (palm and cuff). The middle finger of the former 1 10 begins at Section 4, right at the edge. In an embodiment, the diffuser with cylindrical cross section has higher air velocity than the diffuser with rectangular cross section.

[0036] In a preferred embodiment, the gap 128 (shown in Fig. 1 ) between air discharge points from the shapes (such as cylindrical) is 5 mm to 160 mm to prevent touching issue.
