Abstract:

This diffuser is provided with a connection section (84) and a body section (85). The connection section (84) extends from the outlet of turbine rotor blades. The body section (85) is connected to the downstream end of the connection section (84) and has a greater flow passage cross-sectional area than the connection section (84). The shape of a flow passage cross-section of the connection section (84) is circular at the outlet (71o) of the turbine rotor blades (71) and is elliptical at the inlet (85i) of the body section (85). The flow passage cross-section of the connection section (84) is shaped so as to gradually expand in the major axis direction of the ellipse as the connection section (84) extends from the outlet (71o) of the turbine rotor blades (71) toward the inlet (85i) of the body section (85).
