Abstract:
This invention pertains to a method for machining an aspherical lens, comprising: a pre-processing step in which a glass substrate is subjected to pre-processing; and an etching step in which the glass substrate which has been subjected to pre-processing is subjected to wet etching. The pre-processing step includes: a step in which a particular position on the glass substrate is irradiated with a pulsed laser beam, modifying a partial region inside the glass substrate and generating a density distribution in the thickness direction at least at the position irradiated with the pulsed laser beam; or a step in which chemical or physical methods are used to form a recess having a predetermined wedge shape on the surface of the glass substrate.
