Disclosed is a digital amplifier for amplifying a signal, which is provided with a switching unit for amplifying a signal input to the digital amplifier by performing a switching operation; a drive unit for performing on-off driving of the switching unit; an input signal detection unit for detecting the presence or absence of the input signal to the digital amplifier; and a first control unit for performing control so that if the digital amplifier enters a signal input state from a no-signal input state and the input signal detection unit detects an input signal to the digital amplifier, driving of the drive unit is started and the switching unit is caused to start the switching operation, and if the digital amplifier enters the no-signal input state from the signal input state and the input signal detection unit does not detect an input signal to the digital amplifier, driving of the drive unit is stopped and the switching unit is caused to stop the switching operation. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a digital amplifier capable of reducing power consumption at the time of no-signal input.
