Abstract:
There are included a plurality of broadcast receiving units (10, 20) for receiving program images and broadcast information; an image selecting/combining unit (50) for selectively combining the program images as main and subsidiary pictures; a plurality of monitors (102, 112) for displaying the program images; and a control unit (90). The control unit (90) includes: an idle-state detecting unit (94) that detects the broadcast receiving units (10, 20) currently idle; an idle-state creating unit (97) that, when a broadcast information acquisition is instructed via an operation inputting unit (101, 111) and further no idle broadcast receiving units are currently existent, causes one of the broadcast receiving units (10, 20) to halt the reception and further causes the image selecting/combining unit (50) to output the program images received from the other of the broadcast receiving units (10, 20) to one of the monitors (102, 112) as a main picture; and a broadcast information acquisition instructing unit (96) that, when the broadcast information acquisition is instructed, causes the idle one of the broadcast receiving units (10, 20) to acquire broadcast information.
