Provided is a technology for more favorably transmitting or receiving a high-quality digital broadcast service. One or multiple reception units perform a frequency scan of broadcast waves to be received, detect 2K broadcast services that transmit 2K broadcast programs, and use information relating to the detected 2K broadcast services to generate a service list of 2K broadcast services. After detecting the 2K broadcast services, the one or multiple reception units perform a frequency scan of the broadcast waves, detect 4K broadcast services that transmit 4K broadcast programs, and use information related to the detected 4K broadcast services to generate a service list of 4K broadcast services. A memory stores a service list in which the generated service lists of 2K broadcast services and 4K broadcast services are combined.
