Abstract:

A receiving section (101) demodulates and decodes a digital modulated signal produced by receiving a digital broadcast, creates a transport stream, and extracts data broadcast data transmitted through a data channel. An electronic broadcast program list creating section (102) creates display data on a broadcast program list from broadcast program arrangement information contained in the transport stream, and a video display section (110) displays a broadcast program list according to the display data. The user reads the broadcast program list and selects a broadcast program that the user desires to program the recording of the broadcast program by means of an input operation section (109). A system control section (105) judges if the weather in the time zone of the broadcast program will be good or not on the basis of the weather forecast information extracted from the data broadcast data. If it is judged to be bad, a system control section (105) displays a message that the quality of picture in the broadcast time zone may be not good on the video display section (110).
