Abstract:
The digital coherent receiver is provided with: an adaptive equalizer for executing adaptive equalization of a digital signal corresponding to a signal by using a first tap coefficient; a first coefficient update unit for updating the first tap coefficient on the basis of a non-adaptive-equalized digital signal, the adaptive-equalized digital signal, and a first step size; a second coefficient update unit for updating a second tap coefficient on the basis of the non-adaptive-equalized digital signal, the adaptive-equalized digital signal, and a second step size; and a control unit for detecting a state-of-polarization fluctuation speed of the digital signal on the basis of the second tap coefficient and changing the first tap coefficient to the updated second tap coefficient when it is determined that the fluctuation speed is equal to a speed threshold value or greater.
