Abstract:
Provided is a digital image reproducing apparatus that utilizes both information of the environment during an image pickup and information of the environment during a viewing to process the shadow of a subject such that the shadow of the subject matches the condition of illumination in the viewing environment. A shadow processing unit (105) is included which adds a shadow, which is in accordance with the location of an illuminating apparatus, to a subject in an image data, which is extracted by a subject information extracting unit (104), based on the information of an image pickup environment including at least the distance between the subject and an image pickup apparatus and further based on the information of a viewing environment including at least positional information indicating a positional relationship between the illuminating apparatus and a display apparatus in the viewing environment.
