Abstract:
This invention relates to a digitizing method which detects at each axial displacement distance applied to a stylus (2) by a tracer head (3), profiles a model surface (1) so that a displacement distance is equal to a reference displacement distance, accepts position data and outputs NC data. The difference between a displacement distance and a reference displacement distance is monitored and specific position data at a point of time when the difference exceeds a predetermined value is outputted in addition to the position data. Under the state where a gently inclined shape is profiled, each axial displacement distance is controlled so as to be equal to a reference displacement distance but the instance the corner portion (1a) is reached, a departing phenomenon of the stylus (3) takes place and the difference between a displacement distance and a reference displacement distance becomes great. This change is detected and regarded as the corner portion, and the position data at this point (P6) is outputted in addition to the normal digitizing output points.
