Abstract:
This light source device is provided with a laser light source that emits laser light, and a dimming device that controls power to be supplied to the laser light source. The dimming device is provided with: a first power control unit that controls, on the basis of a dimming value, the value of power to be supplied to the laser light source when the dimming value is a value of a first dimming value region; a second power control unit that controls, on the basis of the dimming value, the ratio between an on-time when power is being supplied to the laser light source, and an off-time when the supply is being stopped, said ratio being controlled when the dimming value is a value of a second dimming value region that is darker than the first dimming value region; and a third power control unit that controls, on the basis of the dimming value, the value of power to be supplied to the laser light source, said value being controlled when the dimming value is a value of a third dimming value region that is darker than the second dimming value region.
