Abstract:

A direct-acting drum brake device for an elevator, wherein a brake shoe is mounted on a movable core. A lining which is made to be in contact with and is separated from a brake drum is provided to the brake shoe. The brake shoe can slide on the movable core within a predetermined range in the direction which is normal to the direction of the axis of the brake drum and at the same time is normal to the direction in which the brake shoe makes contact with and is separated from the brake drum. The movable core is provided with an elastic body for holding the brake shoe by pressing the brake shoe to the movable core side.
