Abstract:
Disclosed in the present application are a direct communication method and device, for use in implementing direct communication by using less signaling. The method comprises: a terminal device sends a direct communication request message to a relay device, the direct communication request message comprising an application layer identifier of the terminal device and service information supported by the relay device; the terminal device receives a direct communication response message returned by the relay device, the direct communication response message comprising an application layer identifier of the relay device and the application layer identifier of the terminal device; and the terminal device establishes a direct communication connection with the relay device.
