Abstract:
The present invention provides a thin direct-type backlight device having a narrow frame. This direct-type backlight device has, sequentially from the rear surface side toward the front surface side, a base member, a plurality of light emitting elements disposed on the surface of the base member, and a diffusion plate. The diffusion plate has a plurality of protruding sections that protrude toward the side of the light emitting elements, and at the positions where leading ends of the protruding sections do not overlap the light emitting elements in plan view, the leading ends of the protruding sections are in contact with the base member or a member disposed on the surface of the base member.
