Abstract:
Provided are a directional wave separator based on electro-optical diffraction, and wavelength division multiplexing system. The directional wave separator and the wavelength division multiplexing system utilize an optical superlattice (1) having a transverse electrode to conduct wavelength selection and directional allocation on polychromatic light transmitted via a transmission medium, thereby guiding optical waves having different wavelengths to a specific channel, and modulating magnitudes of separated optical waves by adjusting a magnitude of an external electric field. That is, functions of wave separation and modulation are integrated on a chip. The present invention has a simple structure, reduces costs, and has a response speed in a subnanosecond range, satisfying a requirement of a quick response in optical fiber communications.
