Abstract:
Disclosed is a disc brake pad comprising a base material that serves as a back metal and a friction material adhered to each other. The disc brake pad has excellent corrosion resistance and thermal adhesion resistance and has no problem with respect to environmental responsiveness and resource saving. Also disclosed is a method for producing the disc brake pad.
In the disc brake pad, the base material that serves as a back metal and the friction material are bound to each other through an oxide coating film comprising at least one component selected from Zr, Ti and Hf, and iron. The oxide coating film contains an organic polymer, wherein the organic polymer is preferably a water-soluble phenolic resin.
