Title:
DISC BRAKE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/003393
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a disc brake that has a simple structure with few components and improves reliability. The disc brake comprises a piston propulsion mechanism. The piston propulsion mechanism comprises: an input member that is positioned extending toward a protrusion direction of a piston within a cylinder, has a threaded part formed on the circumferential surface thereof, and rotates with a torque from an electric motor being transferred thereto; a cylindrical rotary/linear member that has an engaging threaded part that engages with the threaded part of the input member, moves in the axial direction of the cylinder due to a rotation of the input member, and transmits torque from the electric motor to the piston; a cylindrical support member that is supported by a caliper main body so as not to be rotatable and is positioned further to the outside in the radial direction than the rotary/linear member; and a rolling body that is positioned between the support member and the rotary/linear member so as to be engaged with the support member and the rotary/linear member, imparts a rotational resistance to the rotary/linear member when the rotary/linear member rotates due to a rotation of the input member, and causes the rotary/linear member to move linearly while causing the same to rotate relative to the input member.
