Abstract:
A disc brake applicable to automobiles, trains, and airplanes. The brake comprises a disc (1), a disc flange (2), bearings (3), two calipers (4) and friction plates (5). The disc (1) is provided with a gear; the disc flange (2) is provided with a gear and is evenly provided with elastic teeth (10); the disc flange (2) is mounted on an axle flange plate (8); the disc (1) is mounted on the disc flange (2) by means of the bearings (3), and coaxial relative rotation within a small angle can occur between the disc (1) and the disc flange (2); the two calipers (4) are provided on either side of the disc (1) in a way that the two calipers (4) are centrally symmetric with respect to an axle axis; by means of elastic engagement between the gears of the disc flange (2) and the disc (1), the disc (1) and the friction plate (5) generate a friction couple torque. As compared with the prior art, the brake increases braking force by two to four times. The brake constitutes an automobile braking system so that traffic safety is greatly improved.
