Abstract:
Disclosed are a disc playback device and disc playback method, wherein playback of BD-J titles and other content on a BD-ROM disc, in particular movies and other main title content, can start automatically. In this disc playback device (100) which automatically plays content, a menu detecting means (17) analyzes the structure of a movie playlist at the start of the playback operation of a disc, and, in a case when the same play item is repeated multiple times, assess that this state is the menu state. A button determination executing means (18) executes button determinations if the menu detecting means (17) assesses that this state is the menu state.
