Abstract:

Provided is a discharge lamp lighting apparatus that is capable of suppressing deterioration of a capacitor for reducing noise. A housing section (120) houses a discharge lamp (115). A lighting start section (110) applies a predetermined voltage to the discharge lamp and starts lighting the discharge lamp. A power supply section (105) supplies power to the discharge lamp and the lighting start section via a cable. A capacitor (125) is provided outside of the housing section, said capacitor being provided between the cable and a reference potential section.
