Abstract:
A series circuit of first and second switch elements (Q1,Q2) comprising respective FETs and that of two capacitors (C1,C2) are connected across an input power supply, and a primary winding (L1) of a transformer (T) is connected between a junction of the capacitors (C1,C2) and that of the switch elements (Q1,Q2), thereby configuring a half bridge circuit. A switching circuit (2) controls the on/off of the switch elements (Q1,Q2) with a duty ratio of approximately 50 percents. A power supply circuit (5) controls, based on a detection signal of a current detector (4) that detects a tube current of a discharge lamp (3), a DC voltage (V) to keep the tube current constant.
