Abstract:
[Problem] To achieve a low-cost discharge-type surge absorption element having a long lifespan and containing a small number of components, in which degradation of insulation and instability of discharge inception voltage can be suppressed. [Solution] This discharge-type surge absorption element 10, which is formed by arranging a pair of elongated circular bar-shaped discharge electrodes 14, 14 parallel to each other with a discharge gap 16 therebetween in an airtight container 12 made of glass and filling the inside of the airtight container 12 with a discharge gas, is characterized in that a conductive film 22 is formed, on the inner surface of the airtight container 12, in a band shape in a direction crossing the pair of discharge electrodes 14, 14.
