Abstract:
A discontinuous reception capability detection method and terminal, and a network side device, which relate to an LTE technology in mobile communication technologies. The method of the present invention comprises: a terminal returns a HARQ ACK to a network side if the terminal correctly receives a MAC PDU sent by the network side when a short DRX cycle duration timer is in an active state after the network side configures short DRX cycle parameters for the terminal; and the terminal returns a HARQ ACK to the network side again if the terminal receives a MAC PDU sent by the network side again at when any short DRX cycle duration timer is in the active state after the timer at current duration timer expires, so as to determine that the terminal has a discontinuous reception capability when a short DRX cycle is configured for the terminal. The technical solution of the present application is directed to a case where a terminal supports DRX, especially, both a short DRX cycle and a long DRX cycle are configured for the terminal, thus realizing detection on whether the terminal has a discontinuous reception capability.
