Abstract:
A compound or its salt inhibiting the activity of a polypeptide or a receptor thereof, an antibody and an antisense DNA which are useful as, for example, less toxic and safe gastric acid reducers, mucosa protecting agents, mineral absorption promoters, etc. A compound or its salt inhibiting the activity of the above polypeptide or a receptor thereof, the polypeptide or a receptor thereof, the above antibody and the above antisense DNA are usable as, for example, preventives/remedies for diseases in the upper digestive tract, Helicobacter pylori-controlling agents, etc. Namely, these substances are usable as preventives and remedies for indigestion, bone metabolic error, anemia and so on. Also, a compound or its salt promoting the activity of the above polypeptide or a receptor thereof and the polypeptide are usable as gastric acid secretion test agents. Furthermore, the above-described polypeptide, a receptor thereof and the above-described DNA are useful in screening such a preventive or remedy as described above.
