Title:
DISENGAGEMENT DETECTING DEVICE AND METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/056353
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A disengagement detecting device and method for easily and reliably detecting wheel disengagement from a vehicle is provided. Magnetism remaining in a wheel cap mounted on a vehicle, and in the vicinity of the wheel cap are detected by a magnetic sensor (11) provided inside the vehicle. A control section (21) determines every certain period of time an average value of sensor data outputted according to the magnetism detected by the magnetic sensor (11). When the average value of sensor data becomes stable at a value representing an abnormal state after fluctuating more than a predetermined threshold value, it is judged that the wheel cap is disengaged from the vehicle. The control section controls an output section (13) to output a disengagement alarm signal to the outside. This invention can be applied to an antitheft device for vehicle wheel caps.
