Abstract:
A control device employed in a disk array system comprising a plurality of hard disks, said control device being provided with a writing unit that writes data to be written comprising a plurality of unit data to a plurality of hard disks in a distributed manner, and a reading unit that simultaneously reads a plurality of unit data in parallel from the plurality of hard disks. The reading unit simultaneously reads, from a prescribed sector in the plurality of hard disks, a contiguous unit data group in an array of a plurality of unit data, and the next unit data group is read simultaneously from a sector different from the prescribed sector. When an abnormality is detected in unit data stored in one sector of one hard disk among the plurality of hard disks, the read sector of the unit data is set to the one sector of another hard disk, and the read sector for other unit data is set to another sector of the one hard disk.
