Abstract:
When quick deceleration is not required, a deceleration method with a small power consumption can be selected. Even when a disk is required to be stopped during decelerating the disk by the method, the disk can be stopped promptly and reliably. A disk device (1) has a function for decelerating/stopping a rotating disk (2). According to the kind of a command to perform deceleration or stopping, a forced deceleration/stop of decelerating or stopping the disk by applying revere direction power to a disk motor (3) for rotating the disk (2), or power-saving deceleration/stop which needs power consumption more than that of the forced deceleration/stop is performed.
