Abstract:
This dispersion measurement device comprises a pulse formation unit, light detection unit, and computation unit. The pulse formation unit comprises an SLM for presenting a phase pattern in which prescribed phase deviation for each wavelength is applied to a first light pulse and is for forming, from the first light pulse, a light pulse sequence comprising a plurality of second light pulses having time differences from each other and different central wavelengths. The light detection unit detects a time waveform of the light pulse sequence. The computation unit is electrically connected to the light detection unit. An optical component is disposed on the optical path between the pulse formation unit and light detection unit. The computation unit estimates the wavelength dispersion amount of the optical component on the basis of a feature value of the time waveform. The SLM phase pattern includes a pattern for applying, to the first light pulse, group delay dispersion of the reverse sign from the group delay dispersion of the optical component.
