Abstract:
 The present invention provides a dispersion of titanium oxide particles in organic solvent, formed by dispersing titanium oxide particles at a content ratio of at least 10 wt% in an organic solvent other than methanol or ethanol. The titanium oxide particles are surface treated using a surface treatment agent containing 12-hydroxy stearic acid and a silane coupling agent represented by general formula (I) (RO)n-Si-X4-n (in the formula, R represents a C1-4 alkyl group, n represents 2 or 3, and X represents an alkyl group, an alkyl fluoride group, a vinyl group, or a (meth)acryloyl oxyalkyl group). The D50 of the titanium oxide particles in the dispersion of titanium oxide particles in organic solvent is in the range 1-30nm. The dispersion of titanium oxide particles in organic solvent has a transmissivity of at least 2% for the 500nm wavelength and of at least 70% for the 800nm wavelength, has a viscosity at 25℃ immediately after production of at most 10mPa·s , and an increase in viscosity, with respect to the viscosity immediately after production, of at most 40mPa·s seven days later.
