Abstract:
A pump system includes: a positive displacement pump (20), such as a diaphragm pump; an electric motor (12) directly coupled to the positive displacement pump; and a programmable controller (16) configured to sense the current to the electric motor and to maintain constant a desired current value, so that a constant torque is provided which achieves a constant fluid discharge pressure from the pump.
