Abstract:
A display apparatus and a brightness adjustment method therefor. The display apparatus comprises a plurality of pixel units (10). Each of the pixel units (10) comprises a red sub-pixel (R), a green sub-pixel (G), a blue sub-pixel (B) and a white sub-pixel (W). The method comprises: acquiring a standard gamma curve for adjusting the brightness of the display apparatus, the gamma value of said standard gamma curve being γ0; acquiring a green gamma curve corresponding to the green sub-pixel (G), wherein the gamma value of the green gamma curve is γG; and adjusting the green gamma curve to be offset from the standard gamma curve, so as to improve the greyscale brightness of the green sub-pixel (G), where γG<γ 0. The colour gamut of the display apparatus is 77 percent or more of the NTSC colour gamut. The problem of low brightness in colour pictures displayed by a display apparatus having an RGBW pixel structure is improved.
