Abstract:
Provided are: a display apparatus in which light leakage does not occur, a load is prevented from being applied to a display panel at both end portion sides of a fitting part that fits a position regulating part of an optical sheet in a panel support part, and the occurrence of a void and the degradation of display quality caused by a change in the cell thickness of the display panel are avoided; and a television receiver provided with the display apparatus. A main body 71 of a middle chassis 7 forms a plate shape, and a panel supporting part 72, which forms a plate shape and extends along an upper end edge portion of the main body 71, is provided at the upper end edge portion. At a lower end edge portion of the panel supporting part 72, a rib 73 which extends along the lower end edge portion is provided. The panel supporting part 72 is notched at a plurality of locations in a long side direction corresponding to the position regulating part of the optical sheet, and is provided with a fitting part 76. The rib 73 has a notched portion 731 of which an end portion near the fitting part 76 is inclined toward the main body 71.
