Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a display cabinet which is particularly used in the market and which displays the foodstuffs that are going to be sold by keeping them cold therein.
Background of the Invention
Nowadays, especially in supermarkets, foodstuffs such as fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meat and meat products are presented to the view of customers in refrigerated display cabinets. It is important in this type of cabinets for the customers to be able to sec the products and to reach them easily. However, when the customers reach out to get the products from within the cabinet, the physical form and movement of the customer at that moment cause warm air to enter into the cabinet and thus increase of the temperature in the cabinet. This in turn causes the system to overwork to ensure that the products in the cabinet do not deteriorate and thus leads to increase in energy consumption.
The European patent document no. EP0589783 discloses a device in which foodstuffs that arc put up for sale are presented and refrigerated. Chilled air circulates around the foodstuffs placed within the said device. Inside the said device, there is a back panel and at least one shelf, both of which are provided with ducts wherein there is air flow. Additionally there are holes on the shelf which enable the chilled air to reach the foodstuffs.
The international patent document no. WO2004032688 discloses a refrigeration system comprising a display space. The said display space is cooled by a cooling element. An air mover directs the air towards the cooling element. At least one air outlet transmits the cool air to a channel located at the back of the shelf and the cool air is sent from the shelf to the display space.
The International patent document no. WO2008074355 discloses a refrigerating cabinet comprising a display case, a display space in the display case, at least one shelf in the display space for placing foodstuffs that are to be refrigerated, a rear panel, a conduit adjacent to the rear panel that allows cooling air to flow along the rear panel, and an air outlet that enables the cooling air to be sent towards the space where the foodstuffs are located. In one embodiment of the invention, the shelf is integrated with one of the air outlets whereby the cooling air enters into the shelf and thus the foodstuffs on the shelf are refrigeraled.
Summary of the Invention The objective of the present invention is to provide a display cabinet whose energy consumption is minimized.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a display cabinet which enables to minimize loss of coldness suffered by the products displayed therein.

Tn the display cabinet of the present invention (1 ). part of the air cooled by the evaporator (55) travels upwards through the first air duct (9) that lies between the body (6) and the second air duct (10). The said cool air descends from the point where the first air duct (9) ends, such that it forms a first air curtain (FAC) along the body opening (5). The cool air that descends is drawn back into the space (11) by means of the fan (54) provided in the space (11 ) and thus, passes through the evaporator (55) again and circulates.
The remaining part of the air which is cooled by the evaporator (55) and which does not enter into the first air duct (9) enters into the second air duct (10) that lies between the display assembly (7) and tlie first air duct (9). Some of the cool air traveling in the second air duct (10) flows directly to the display area througli the holes (27, 32, 35) provided on the panel (14), another part of it flows to the space (38) located in the shelf (8), another part flows to the display area through the holes provided on the display assembly top (15), and the remaining part Mows downwards from the second air duct (10) outlet such that it will form a second air curtain (SAC). The cool air that descends is drawn back into the space (11) by means of the fan (54) provided in the space (1 1 ) and thus, passes through the evaporator (55) again and circulates.
Some of the cool air that fills into the space (38) in the shelf (8) from the second air duct (10) starts to flow downwards through the holes (50) located on the shelf lower part (39), The remaining part of the cool air flows downwards from the shelf front part (46) such that it forms an air curtain. The air flowing downwards is drawn by the fan (54) located in the space (11) and thus, the said air is cooled by the evaporator (55) and starts to flow in the first or second air duct (9, 10) again.
The external environment air that is drawn by the fan (56) provided in the canopy (12) travels along the channel (57) within the canopy (12), and descends from the point where the channel (57) ends such that it forms a third air curtain (TAC). The air that descends is drawn back into the space (11) by means of the fan (54) provided in the space ( 1 1 ) and thus, passes through the evaporator (55) again and continues to flow within the first or second air duct (9, 10).
By means of the first, second and third air curtains (FAC, SAC, TAC) formed at the front part of the body (6), the temperature of the warm air trying to enter into the display area from outside of the cabinet (1) is reduced.
In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the warm air that tries to enter into the display area from outside first meets the third air curtain (TAC) where its speed and temperature are reduced. The warm air which passes through the third air curtain (TAC) losing part of its speed and temperature then meets the first air curtain (FAC). After this meeting, temperature of the said warm air is further reduced. The warm air which also passes through the first air curtain (FAC) then meets the second air curtain (SAC) and loses a further part of its temperature. The warm air which leaves the second air curtain (SAC) losing a further part of its temperature finally contacts the cool air that flows through the shelf lower part holes (50) and the shelf front part (46). This way, the warm air coming from outside is prevented from entering into the display area with its initial temperature and increase in the temperature of the display area is prevented. Thus, consumption of the energy that might be used for rccooling the display area is avoided.
In one embodiment of the invention, a plurality of shelves (8) is provided on the display assembly (7). The said shelves (8) arc mounted onto the pole (13) in a straight or inclined manner. In the said embodiment of the invention, cool air is passed through the shelves (8) whereby cool air convection is provided through the holes (50) provided in the shelf lower part onto the products that are displayed on the shelf underneath (8). Additionally, cool air convection is provided by means of the cool air that leaves the shelf front part (46) onto the products that are displayed on the shelf underneath (8) and onto the shelf front part (46). In addition to that, a vertical cool air curtain is formed between the front parts (46) of two shelves (8). Furthermore, the cool air, which exits through the holes (27, 32, 35) provided on the display assembly (7) panel and travels around the displayed products, enables to cool the products more efficiently. This way, the product on the shelf (8) is cooled in four different ways, namely by conduction directly from the shelf upper part (37), by convection of the air exiting through the holes (27, 32, 35) provided on the display assembly panel, by convection of the air exiting through the holes (50) provided on the shelf lower part, and by convection of the air exiting from the upper shelf front part (46).
Within the framework of these basic concepts, it is possible to develop a wide variety of embodiments of the display cabinet of the present invention ( 1 ). The invention can not be limited to the examples described herein and it is in principle as described in the claims.
