Abstract:
This virtual image display unit (2) is capable of displaying, at a virtual image position, a display object (102) which is a virtual image visible through a windshield (201) from the driver's seat of a vehicle, the virtual image position being defined by a virtual image direction which is the direction of the virtual image relative to a specific position of the vehicle, and a virtual image distance which is the distance to the virtual image. A display control apparatus (1) is equipped with: a relative position acquisition unit (11) which acquires the relative position of an object (90) to which the attention of the driver of the traveling vehicle should be given with respect to the vehicle; and a control unit (13) which controls the display of the virtual image display unit (2). When displaying a visual guidance object (102) which is the display object for guiding a driver's line of sight to the object (90), the control unit (13) causes the visual image direction and the visual image distance of the visual guidance object (102) to change with time in such a manner that the visual guidance object (102) moves toward the position of the object as viewed from the driver on the basis of the relative position of the object (90) and the vehicle.
