Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to suppress increases in consumed electricity when driving a display panel at high drive frequencies. When data for the next image starts being written to frame memory (36) in a unit time period starting with the second time period onward among unit time periods wherein image data is output in normal mode, an LCD controller (3) transitions to a double-speed mode and, when the writing of the next image data is not started in a unit time period wherein image data is output in the double-speed mode, transitions to normal mode.
