A virtual image display unit 2 is capable of displaying display objects, i.e. virtual images visible from the driver's seat of a vehicle via a windshield, in virtual image positions specified by virtual image distances, i.e. the distances to the virtual images, and virtual image directions, i.e. the directions of the virtual images using the specific position of the vehicle as a reference. A display control device 1 is provided with: a relative position acquisition unit 11 which acquires the relative positions of the vehicle and objects about which information is to be presented, i.e. places or planimetric features associated with information to be presented to a driver of the vehicle using the display objects; and a control unit 13 for controlling the display on the virtual image display unit 2. The control unit 13 changes the virtual image distances of the display objects in accordance with the relative positions of the vehicle and the objects about which information is to be presented corresponding to the display objects.
